A Great American Success Story
In 1986, the assets of a small neighborhood framing business were purchased by a husband and wife team. This was the beginning of a venture that would establish 2 individuals as reputable and influential figures for home decor in the Miami area.
Frank and Sheila Kuhl are Midwesterners who were transplanted to Miami in 1980 when Frank, an Air Force pilot, was stationed in Homestead. With 4 years in the Philippines behind them, they settled with their three children in South Dade. A talented watercolorist, Sheila Kuhl sought to combine her years of experience in travel and art to achieving her dream of entrepreneurship. After Frank’s retirement, they went quickly to work towards building their dream of independence. The Grove Frame Shop, as it was known, stood as approximately 1100 square foot retail space on Bird Avenue in the residential district of Coconut Grove, Florida. Their goal was to produce high quality picture framing and promote local artists. Little did they know how far their traditional values, excellent work ethics, and knowing customers by first name would take them…
As years passed, many services and products were introduced as a result of demand from customer loyalty and confidence. Today, the Kuhls open the doors 6 days a week to a 14,000 square feet showroom, gallery, interior design workroom, and framing at 2790 Bird Avenue. The talented staff are available to offer great advice and reliable service in addition to warm, sincere smiles. Despite sitting dominantly on an entire block, The “Mom and Pop” store attention to details still prevails, offering everything from modern accessories, traditional furniture, custom window treatments, framing, and more, Coconut Grove Gallery and Interiors will please any client with discriminating taste for style and quality.
